Along with her big smile and great sense of humor, she kindly brought us thoughtful gifts from the USA and beautiful cards to go with them.
Since then, I’ve read her heartwarming words many times over and each time they bring me a quiet feeling of gratitude.
A few days ago, I asked Grace if she would allow me to share her words with you. She said, “If you think it would help someone else, then use it.” She only asked that I not divulge her name or any identifying info.
Following is the contents of the card that Grace wrote to me:
This small gift isn’t really about Christmas. It is meant to represent something you love, someone you love, and the way you met your love. It called to me when I saw it for you and I hope you enjoy its meaning.
I cannot express how lucky I am that you and Prof. Rothbart exist, know what you know, give the help that you give, and I found you. I feel like it was meant to be that I see you in-person and so it has happened. It still feels surreal and I often feel I experience things better in my mind than in-person! Thank you for taking me into your care and into your home.
I wish you continued good health, happiness and lots of peaceful quietness! It was hard to come here and it will be hard to leave. The two of you should never feel alone in the world because of all the lives you have affected for the better.
It was my pleasure to meet you in-person. Thank you so very much.
Following is the card Grace wrote to Professor Rothbart:
There is no way to thank you for your knowledge, concern, dedication and innovative ideas. Where would the people you have touched be without you? We do not want to answer that question. My second most favorite part of your second book is the dedication [ “To all those who still have hope and are seeking an answer.”] I was seeking an answer and you have allowed my hope to continue to exist. You and your work have given me explanations for things about myself that will allow me to have greater faith in myself and greater peace in life. Your insights stimulate my intellectual curiosity and feed my physical healing. It is really all so fascinating and it would have been a sad thing if I had never gotten to meet you in-person. But I have.
You are one of the most rock-steady people I have ever met. One reason for my gift selection [of black tourmaline stones]. But more importantly, this small token represents what I wish most for you – to neutralize your naysayers and allow the energy of your solution to be widely received. These rocks, or crystals, are black tourmaline. They are supposed to be full of transition metals that have an electron configuration that allows them to excel at protecting us from bad energies. So I humbly give them to you so they might deflect the non-believers.
It has been my privilege to have found you, worked with you so to speak, and to be helped by you. Your name, “Rothbart,” evokes so many things for me and always will. I look forward to the unfolding of the rest of my journey, made possible by a lucky search on the internet, a stubborn belief in a solution, and Rothart in the biggest sense of the name you bear.
With all my respect,
I’ve published these two cards from Grace because I feel that they may touch your heart as they touched mine and the Professor’s. If you suffer with chronic pain and are one of those people who still have hope and are seeking an answer, we’re here to help you.
With warm regards,
Assistant to Professor/Dr. Rothbart
