Why A Consultation With Dr. Rothbart Is Different Than With Other Doctors
When you read about the Rothbarts Foot and PreClincal Clubfoot Deformity, you may suspect that one of these abnormal foot structures is causing your chronic pain – but you aren’t sure which of the two may be your culprit.
People often want to visually see the difference between one foot structure and the other to help them decide, so luckily, understanding the differences between the Rothbarts Foot and the PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity is straightforward.
• Clinically: the Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity results in more severe and muscle and joint pain, earlier in life, compared to the Rothbarts Foot.
• Structurally: the Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity has a more pronounced structural deformity compared to the Rothbarts Foot. Specifically, the Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity has a structural twist in both the heel bone and the bone that sits on top of the heel bone (talus), whereas the Rothbarts Foot has a structural twist only in the talus.
• Functionally: people with a Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity have a much greater foot twist (when they stand and walk) compared with those who have a Rothbarts Foot. Since the severity of ‘foot twist’ determines the severity of the postural deformity and resulting chronic pain, the Preclinical Clubfoot Deformity produces more debilitating symptoms than the Rothbarts Foot.
But because these abnormal foot structures can visually and functionally look very similar, it’s only through running specific computer analyses that the differential diagnosis (determining which of the two structures you actually have) can be made.
Rothbarts Foot Or PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity – Which One Do I Have?
Only a healthcare professional – fully trained at the International Academy of Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy – can run the complex computer analyses that are necessary to make this differential diagnosis.
Meanwhile, while you are still in the research mode, you’ll want to know as much as possible about these abnormal foot structures to help you understand if you may have one or the other. This is why I’ve made available to you the Rothbarts Foot Questionnaire as well as the Posture Self Analysis. I encourage you to take advantage of these tools as a first step in determining whether or not an abnormal foot structure may be the true source of your chronic muscle and joint pain.
