People suffering from severe osteodegenerative arthritis (pain in the hip) frequently end up having hip replacements. In fact, in 2011, in the United States alone, more than 193,000 hip replacement surgeries were performed.
A hip replacement entails removing the head of the thigh bone and replacing it with a metal or polyethylene head that functions as a ball fitting inside the socket of the hip bone. This procedure, although cited in the medical literature as being safe, is far from it.
Statistically, people over the age of seventy suffering from pain in the hips and undergoing hip replacements are at great risk for developing life threatening emboli to the heart and/or brain.
Knowing this, it may be wise to look at why the hip joints become so severely damaged that they need to be replaced. Frequently, your orthopedic surgeon will tell you that as you age, the hip joint wears out. However, in my clinical experience, I have found many patients in their 70s and 80s whose hip joints are normal and pain free. So obviously aging is not a cause of pain in the hip.
That being said, it behooves the healthcare provider to uncover the cause of the hip pain and treat that cause directly before the hip joint becomes so degenerated that it requires a hip replacement.
What Actually Causes Chronic Pain In Hips?
In 2002, I published a paper in a peer review medical journal that described two previously unrecognized inherited, abnormal foot structures, that if left untreated, frequently results in hip pain. These two common foot structures are known as the Rothbarts Foot and the PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity.
I developed a non drug, non surgical therapy that effectively reverses the degenerative changes that occur in the hip, thereby preventing hip degeneration and pain in the hips from developing. This therapy is called Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy.
Whether your chronic pain manifests as acute or severe hip pain, or even just a dull hip ache, why struggle with temporary fixes and treatments that only work in the short term, like hip replacement surgery ?
As you learn more about my innovative therapy, you may find that addressing and effectively treating your foot structure may be the missing link to ending your long time battle with unrelenting muscle and joint pain.
