I read an article about a young ex-marine who had a routine root canal procedure at the dentist. The result was tragic and bizarre: This man remembers everything up to his dental procedure, but after the procedure he lost his ability to make new memories. As a result; ten minutes after any occurrence, he no longer remembers it.
A former patient of mine had a mouth full of cracked composite fillings removed and then replaced, all within a few weeks. Two weeks after the work was completed, she sat up in bed one morning and watched in astonishment as her left big toe slowly moved about 1/3 inch to the left. Within weeks, she started having problems with her eyes, heart, lungs, gut, liver and just about everything else you can think of. Years later, her big toe is still leaning to the left.
Are these episodes taken from the midnight showing of ‘The Twilight Zone’? Unfortunately not.
What causes seemingly unconnected, inexplicable body problems? The answer is simple – everything in your body from the smallest cell to the largest organ, is interconnected. They all rely on each other to function at their optimum. And if something goes wrong with even one seemingly insignificant part, it can affect everything else in your entire body.
As intuitive and logical as the above statement sounds, you would think that this would be understood by all medical professionals, determining how they treat their patients. But in the field of chronic musculoskeletal pain and what causes it, this has not been the case. When I’ve tried to explain how problems with the feet can manifest symptoms anywhere in the body, I’ve been heavily criticized by my peers.
Within my 45 years of clinical research and practice, I’ve observed many women who were unable to become pregnant, even after trying just about everything that traditional medicine has to offer. These same women would quickly become pregnant when I found and effectively treated the cause of their problem – their abnormal foot structure.
This relationship is easy to understand when you observe the forward rotation of the pelvis in women with abnormal foot structures. If you have an abnormal foot structure, such as the Rothbarts Foot or PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity, your pelvis may be rotated forward. This forward rotation can block the downward passage of the egg through your fallopian tubes. By correcting the problem coming from your abnormal feet, the pelvis returns to its correct position. The fallopian tubes are no longer obstructed and the egg easily passes through and into the uterus, where conception occurs.
Another example of the interconnection between abnormal foot structures and the rest of the body is when you have a plethora of gastro-intestinal symptoms such as gas, diarrhea, constipation and severe cramping. Again, this is linked to the forward rotation of the pelvis, which compresses the stomach and intestines, making it difficult to eliminate the stagnated waste.
What caused the problems in the two cases at the beginning of this article?
I personally didn’t see the marine with the lost memory, but here’s a plausible explanation (based on dental pathology): Obviously there was an infection around the nerve in his tooth. When the dentist cut out the nerve, this could have allowed the localized infection to spread to the brain. The infection became concentrated in the area of the brain that controls short term memory; the hippocampus.
And, as for the woman with the wandering toe – this was proven to have been caused by poor dentistry.
A Common Reason For Seemingly Unconnected, Inexplicable Body Problems
Without an understanding of how our body synergistically functions as a whole, problems we have can indeed seem unconnected and inexplicable.
This is often what happens to people who suffer with chronic muscle and joint pain. Despite years of medical treatment and countless tests trying to find the cause, their doctors simply do not understand that their patients’ knee, hip or back pain can be coming from their feet.
If you have chronic pain anywhere in your body and/or seemingly unconnected, inexplicable body problems, find out if you may have a Rothbarts Foot or PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity by taking the Rothbarts Foot Questionnaire.
Reading the Curing Chronic Pain website will give you more information about the abnormal foot structures Professor/Dr. Rothbart discovered that cause many forms of chronic muscle and joint pain and help you determine whether an Initial Phone Consultation with him might be helpful.
