Has your doctor convinced you that you haven’t a clue as to the workings of your own body and that it is basically incapable of healing itself of chronic pain? The truth is, if you want to get rid of your chronic pain, you have to acknowledge that your body intrinsically knows how to heal itself. All you have to do is find out what it needs and then give it a boost in the right direction.
I’ve recently read an inspiring article written by Mike Stuchiner, MH, in the Dr. Christopher’s Herbal Legacy Newsletter which talks about self- reliance in healing. I’d like to share with you some excerpts:
“I believe self-reliance is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves in all parts of our lives, especially when it comes to our health and well-being. I can say with 100% confidence that no one wants to rely on others to take care of them. When you rely on others too much you lose a big part of yourself and your independence in the process – and this is especially true with your health.
I know you must be tired of running to the ER, doctor, dentist or vet for every little thing that happens to you, your kids, or your pets. I am also willing to bet that you are not crazy about that feeling of helplessness you get when these things happen, feeling as if you can’t do anything about it. I know all too well how crippling that can feel, compounding the feeling of helplessness.
Here’s the good news – and I know for many this will take some time to digest and really embrace: You are not alone and you are not helpless. You are smarter and more resourceful than you think and can take care of more problems than you realize.”
“Follow your gut and your instincts. This will almost never lead you in the wrong direction. Learn how to do research on anything and everything. This is not hard and with practice you will understand how to sift through all the information and know what to take seriously. Again, your instincts will guide you. The internet can be a wonderful tool, so use it.”
“Remember that 90% of health problems, regardless of what anyone tells you, are not serious. As a matter of fact, in most cases they are quite easy to fix. The other 10% of serious problems are not that difficult to fix either once you remember two very important things. The body is 100% capable of healing itself, and your job is to support the body and give it what it needs to get the job done.”
Give Your Body The Information It Needs To Heal Itself From Chronic Pain
At this point you may be telling me (in frustration); ‘But I have relied on myself; I’ve tried everything I can think of to get rid of my chronic pain, but my body’s just not co-operating.’ Believe me when I tell you that I know exactly how you feel, as I’ve been there myself. But the truth is that if you’re dying of thirst the water may be just on the other side of the hill, but unless you find a useable path your body can’t walk you over for a drink.
The key is in finding a treatment that allows your body to heal itself from chronic pain. How is this done? Well, we all know that drugs and surgery do not assist your body to heal itself. Actually, being invasive therapies they do just the opposite – they try to force your body into submission. Since your body doesn’t like being forced into doing something that will ultimately hurt it, in an act of defiance (and to wake you up) it gives you more pain. This is called self-survival.
The answer is to give your body the information it needs so it can heal itself. Let’s start with some background information that your body already knows and is trying to tell you:
Most chronic muscle and joint pain comes from two inherited abnormal foot structures – Rothbarts Foot and PreClinical Clubfoot Deformity. If you were born with one of these abnormal foot structures, the bones in your feet are structurally twisted and so you have a handicap that your body can’t fix without your help.
Your abnormal feet are sending distorted signals to the posture center in your brain. With this faulty information your brain automatically adjusts your posture in such a way that your joints become misaligned. Over time they become inflamed, which creates chronic muscle and joint pain.
Here’s where your part comes in: You can’t change your foot structure, but you can assist your abnormal feet so they can send corrected signals to your brain. When this happens your body starts to heal itself.
For information on how this is done, I invite you to read the category on this website ‘Rothbart Proprioceptive Therapy’, starting here. If you have an abnormal foot structure, this is the only therapy that gives your body what it needs to heal itself of chronic pain.
Reading the Curing Chronic Pain website will give you more information about the abnormal foot structures I discovered that cause many forms of chronic muscle and joint pain and help you determine whether an Initial Phone Consultation with me might be helpful.
